THE 11^TH   INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM on BUCKWHEAT

The first announcement

INTRODUCTION

The 11^th International Symposium on Buckwheat will be held in Orel, Russia, from July 19^th  to 23^rd, 2010. The International Buckwheat Symposiums have been held under auspices of the International Buckwheat Research Association (IBRA) regularly every three years since 1980 when the first Symposium was held in Slovenia. The 4^th International Symposium on Buckwheat took place at the All-Russia Research Institute of Legumes and Groat Crops in Orel in 1989.

PARTICIPATION IN SYMPOSIUM

The symposium invites buckwheat researchers, growers, seed farmers, processors, commercial producers of buckwheat and buckwheat family of products; nutrition specialists and all those who are interested in buckwheat as a valuable food crop.

Participants of the Symposium will see buckwheat experimental fields of the All-Russia Research Institute of Legumes and Groat Crops and also industrial fields of the Orel Province. Every participant will have an opportunity to present the results of his/her work, get acquainted with contemporary level of research on buckwheat and exchange research information on buckwheat with colleagues.

EXHIBITIONS

Exhibition space will be provided to let research organizations, public and private companies, concerned with cultivation and processing of buckwheat present results of their work.

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS AND OTHER MATERIALS

The organizing committee most kindly asks possible participants of the Symposium to fill in the attached preliminary registration form. Please send it to the address of the Organizing Committee not later than June 30, 2009. Preliminary registration can be made on-line at the website http://www.11isb.ru. More detailed information concerning submission of manuscripts, registration fees, accommodation, post-symposium tours and other will be given in the second announcement.
